The Boomers are advancing in age, Angelenos are living longer and tragically Alzheimer’s and dementia is on the rise. Fortunately, the City of LA has a tool to help accommodate our aging population and encourage a broad array of elder care housing and services.
The Eldercare Facility Unified Permit or “ELD” allows applicants to request relief from most zoning regulations provided some basic standards are met. Through a growing use of the ELD, developers are able to meet the local needs where the need is located – rather than depending on restrictive zoning criteria.
Entitle and Permits has been processing ELD projects since 2016 and is leading developing on a number of locations in Los Angeles.
